Supplier Onboarding: A Step-by-Step Guide

A step-by-step guide to setting up your account and uploading geolocation data.

This guide explains how to complete your onboarding on the Orbify Supplier Portal and submit your plot data.

1. Getting Started

When your buyer invites you to the platform, you will receive an automated email invitation from Orbify.

  1. Open the invitation email and click the setup link.

  2. Create your password and log in to the Orbify Supplier Portal.

  3. You will be directed to your dashboard, where you can view pending requests and upload your data.

2. Geolocation Requirements

Before uploading, ensure your data meets the following criteria based on plot size:

  • Plots under 4 hectares: A single geolocation point (latitude and longitude) is sufficient.

  • Plots larger than 4 hectares: A polygon (full boundary mapping) of the plot is required.

3. Supported File Formats

Orbify accepts standard mapping and spreadsheet formats. There is no need to convert your data or use specialized GIS software. You can upload:

  • Shapefile (.shp, packed in a .zip)

  • KML / KMZ (.kml, .kmz)

  • GeoJSON (.geojson, .json)

  • CSV / Excel (.csv, .xlsx — listing latitude and longitude columns)

4. How to Upload Your Data

  1. Log in to the Orbify Supplier Portal.

  2. Navigate to the Plots or Upload section in your dashboard.

  3. Drag and drop your files into the upload area (or select them from your computer).

  4. Map the necessary attributes (e.g., select which columns contain latitude and longitude if uploading a CSV).

  5. Click Submit.

5. Satellite Verification & Next Steps

Once uploaded, the platform automatically cross-references your plot boundaries against satellite imagery and historical land data.

  • You can view the status and results of your plot analysis directly in your account dashboard.

  • Your requesting buyer will automatically receive access to the verified data.
